Which way to go?

Feeling quite desperate at the moment! So I decided that I should finally start the formal process of transitioning, so I started looking at the help that is available through the NHS and my conclusion is that it is practically zero! Despite what is portrayed in the media you can't just turn up at your GP and tell them that you have "gender issues" and everything slots into place. Odds are that your GP will have no knowledge or understanding of the issues or their own religious beliefs and prejudices will prevent them from helping you. If you are luckily then you have to wait many many months to be referred to a clinic and even then you might not get any help. In the meantime your life has been torn to shreds as a result of this declaration to the state; you are alone, have no support and are desperately trying to keep things together.

So I have decided that I have no choice but to make my own path in this world and hope it doesn't end in tears. Fingers crossed!
